Brent's Wedding and Family Ski Trip!

Hey There!

School is done, my brother is married, and everyone has sore muscles!

This weekend was Brent and Brandi's Wedding. It was beautiful! I can not believe how well Brandi and her mom pulled off the purple, orange, lime green color scheme. They both just looked really happy all day:) Congratulations to them! It was so much fun seeing aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents! I also enjoyed being able to tell an embarrassing story about Brent at the Luncheon, good times.

My family decided to stay a couple extra days to spend some time with me and Brett.

On Sunday my family as well as my Uncle Rob and his family came to church with us. It was fun having all the kids around and after church I had my first opportunity to feed 13 people! (I've fed 7 before, but this was a whole other level) I think it went pretty well despite the large number of people in our little apartment. We then went and played games over at the clubhouse, a little more elbow room over there!

I'd also like to mention that my husband thought it would be a good idea to let the kids play with racquetballs in our apartment. How can you hand a ball to a 3, 5, and 7 year old who have been sitting still at church for three hours and have the balls not to be thrown at something breakable! Sigh, someday he'll learn...

Yesterday we wanted to go skiing at Kelly's Canyon, but (believe it or not) there was not enough snow. We decided then to drive the extra hour and a half to go ski at Targhee in Wyoming. Those are some great slopes! Brett was brave enough to go with my Dad and little brother Craig to the top of the mountain and they got some beautiful pictures. Pictures that were totally worth the sore calve muscles!

Today has been a lot more low key, we all went bowling this morning (Doug- my youngest brother- is a pro bowler!) and had a lot of fun there. In not too long we are going to go see Sherlock Holmes 2. They will head back tomorrow and there is snow in the forecast so we will keep their safe travel in our prayers!

Have a Merry Christmas Everyone!

Work party and finals week!

Hello!

This week was a busy one, not only are we coming up on finals week we went to Brett's work party, my cousins birthday party, and made lots of Christmas cookies!

We are very excited to be seeing family this next weekend! My older brother is getting married on Saturday, we are very excited for them and look forward to helping out with what we can. (We are also excited because we will be finished with this semester at that point.)

Brett's work party on Tuesday was a lot of fun. it was at Fat Cats (formerly known as the Rex) and we got to bowl, play mini golf, and play pool for free. They also had lots of pizza which made Brett super happy :) They also did drawings for free stuff throughout the night! Believe it or not: Brett won! He won a Picnic Table! We have NO Idea what we are going to do with it, but its always nice to win :)

Hope everyone has a great week, see some of you soon!

And I said Yes!!

Hello!

A year ago today my husband got down on one knee in the snow and asked me to marry him :)

Here's the story...

Me and Brett met at a game night at my apartment. We hit it off right away! It didn't take long before we were seeing each other every day.

On the night he asked me to marry him I was completely clueless to what was going on! We went to see the movie Tangled and then ate this really greasy cheesy pizza while playing a couple games of bowling. Afterwards we stopped by Brett's apartment to get hims some "advil"- he was really getting the ring.

He thought that I was suspicious so we drove around looking at Christmas lights for a while and then we went to Smith Park. Smith Park is where we would always go when it was warmer to sit on the bleachers and talk, it is also where we had our first kiss. We walked around the park a couple times and then he took me over to the bleacher where we had our first kiss. He said that he just wanted to give me my Christmas present early. He got down on one knee in the snow and asked me if I would Marry him... and I said Yes!

It's amazing to me that that was an entire year ago! I still think that I am the lucky one!

Arthur Christmas

Hello!

Well, the temperatures are steadily dropping here in Rexburg (as I'm sure they are everywhere else too). The fifteen minute walk from Campus to the "Free Parking Lot" is getting harder and harder, but only 2 more weeks of classes!

We have a lot going on this month! My brother's wedding, skiing with my parents, Christmas, a trip to Honeyville. Super exciting!

This week we went and Saw Arthur Christmas- very cute! Brett referred to it as "a great way to start off the Christmas season". However, we are not sure that the Justin Beiber music video before the movie was completely necessary.

Yesterday was the Ward Christmas Party which was a lot of fun, we laughed because every child that went to sit on Santa's lap cried. Felt a little bad for Santa, but it was cute!

Have a great week!

We finished our tree decorating! (pretty star)

Thanksgiving Break and Christmas Decorations!

Hey There!

It was a very busy week, but a lot of fun busy instead of the usual school and work busy! It was a fantastic Thanksgiving break!

We left Wednesday night and arrived in Honeyville pretty late. We watched Brett's Mom stuff the turkey and get things prepped for the next day while joking around with Heather (Brett's little sister). Thanksgiving day was a lot of fun, there were about 20 people enjoying the feast. Brett and I sure have a lot to be Thankful for and it was nice to have a day to reflect on all of our blessings.

Thursday night, at midnight, was my first ever black Friday shopping experience. We went to wal-mart and it was seriously like a sports arena in their. Very loud and people rushing everywhere. I think that everyone got what they went for!

Friday we went to Ogden to do some Christmas shopping and then once back in Rexburg me and the sister in laws (Me, Heather, Mandy, Timari, and Laura) went to see the new twilight movie. It was a lot of fun spending time with the girls and the movie was good! Brett helped the guys brand cattle while we were gone.

We headed home Saturday morning so we could both get back to work. Today we put up our Christmas Tree! I had a lot of ornaments to put on the tree because growing up each Christmas my grandma Kay and Papa would buy each of the grandchildren a Christmas ornament! I have pictures below- I love them and am so grateful to grandma Kay for the awesome tradition that I will be able to remember year after year! I was also able to set up the cute nativity set that Grandma Griffith gave me for Christmas several years ago!

I hope everyone is enjoying the season and getting excited to celebrate this special time of year!

Other things this past week...

Hey y'all,

Well, my mom's surprise visit was really the big events of this week, but we did do some other things.

Sunday night my cousin Rachelle came over to introduce us to her new boyfriend, we approve. We played "Would you rather," which is a game I got for Christmas last year but had only played once. We loved it! We will definitely play it more!

Sometime a couple weeks ago I was using Brett's scripture marker and set it down and then couldn't find it again. We didn't worry about it too much because things don't really stay lost in our small apartment for too long. It didn't show up though and so we really looked and Brett ended up finding it after he stuck his hand way deep into the couch cushions, however, the scripture marker is not the only thing we found. I hope the picture of what we found does not deter anyone from sitting on our couch!

We are looking forward to some days off school and our trip down to Honeyville for Thanksgiving!

Have a Happy Holiday!

My Mom Came to Rexburg!

Hello Everyone!

This week started out very normal, classes, work, and such but then I got a huge shock!

Here's the Story:

On Tuesday Brett told me that his friends little sister was coming back from Brigham City and had stopped in Honeyville to get some books that Brett had left at home. He said that she was going to be coming in on the Salt Lake Express on Wednesday and was wondering if I could get them from her when the bus came in. It happened to fit perfectly into my schedule and so I said I would. The next day I arrived at the bus stop and was waiting and waiting inside the building (because it was so so cold outside)! I was on the phone with Brett and looking around for someone that fit the description of Brett's friends little sister and then I glanced out the door and MY MOM was walking towards me! I was completely shocked! I ran to her gave her a big hug, there was probably some screaming and a little bit of crying.

Brett was the only one that knew she was coming and he kept it a secret really well! There were some strange behaviors such as randomly deciding to deep clean the apartment by himself and asking me very detailed questions about my week, but I remained completely clueless!

Brent and Craig (my brothers who are here in Rexburg) did not know that she was coming either.

So my mom was here from Wednesday night to just this morning (Saturday). The original idea for her coming was to come to Craig's play. He was in "The Lazy Chaperon" which is a hilarious musical, he did an amazing job!

We had so much fun going to see Craig's play! I saw it twice with my mom and am going tonight with Brett, I think I will enjoy it just as much the third time as I did the first!

I really enjoyed having my mom here. We got to go talk and play and we even did some early Christmas shopping! I hope she had as much fun as we did even though it is about 40 degrees colder here than it is in Albuquerque!

Anyway, I will post again tomorrow about other events that happened this week, but I thought that this was enough for its own post.

Bowling, kidnapping, and homework.

Hello All!

Saturday was our big homework day, we went to the Library at around 11am and when we left at around 4:30 there was about a foot of snow on the ground. We were really surprised because when we went to the library the skies were clear and there was very little snow on the ground. Guess that's Rexburg for you!

I did get kidnapped by my husband this week. He got off work early and picked me up to take me to Mongolian grill down in Idaho Falls. I have never seen anything like it, it was good food at a good price!

Yesterday we went and redeemed one of our free games of bowling. We aren't as good as my little brother Doug who bowls constantly, but we did fairly well and had a great time! We went to the bowling ally on campus and I don't think we will ever go anywhere else, it is a very very good price and super nice! the scores? Brett: 115 Sheree: 97

Hope everyone is staying warm!

Glow golf and the start of a snowy winter!

Hello Friend and Family!

What a COLD week! It is not fun crossing campus at 7 in the morning, take our word for it! This week was midterms and I am so glad that it is over! We are definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for this semester!

Christmas is coming!!! I guess we should be worrying about Thanksgiving first, but I absolutely love Christmas time! I told myself and Brett that I would not listen to Christmas music until it snowed. This accomplishes 2 things: (1) I don't dread the snow so much because now it is associated with something I like... Christmas Music! (2) I don't drive Brett crazy by listening to the Christmas Melodies too early in the season. Well, the second one didn't really help because it started snowing yesterday! I now have David Archuleta's Christmas Album playing in my car and my Christmas list on my Ipod!

Brett and I went on a fun date this week (free thanks to the starving student card). We went Glow mini golfing and the local movie theater here in Rexburg. It was way fun, and I regret to admit that Brett beat me by a lot of points :)

Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the anticipation of the upcoming holidays like I am!

Sheree Bingham

P.S. We also got to talk to our oldest Nephew Brance who was baptized Yesterday. Congratulations to him, we are super happy for him and the big step he has taken!

Living in a winter wonderland!

My car is the lucky one that gets to be under the cover, Brett's is the one that gets covered in snow.

Carmel Apples & Pumpkin Casserole

Hey All!

It's Halloween time! Me and Brett decided to have some friends over tonight for dinner to celebrate, it was a lot of fun and I got to make a meal that has been a tradition in Brett's family for as long as he can remember. Casserole in a pumpkin! I had never even heard of something like this, but it was a lot of fun to make and super good, everyone seemed to like it.

We also got to make caramel apples this week! It is really easy when you buy the microwave caramel kit :)

We've both got an intense week of school coming up (tests and projects) so I'd better stop blogging!

Some fun Pictures below!

Have a great week!

Baking Soda vs. Baking Powder

Hey Family and Friends!

Just a quick update today.

Brett again helped me to  pass another accounting test this week. I did even better on this one that the first! It took many hours of frustration and patience and I am so grateful to him for not giving up on me :)

This weekend we actually got to go on a date! Gasp! It was so much fun, we went and ate at Wingers and then went and played some ski ball and air hockey. We got really good deals at both places because of our newly acquired 'Starving Student Card' (It's like an entertainment book, but on a card that is folded up like an accordion.)

In reference to my blog title. I decided that I wanted to make some cookies to take to my brothers who live on the other side of Rexburg- all of 5 minutes away- but I wanted them to be Halloween  cookies. So I found a cute recipe online that I liked. I rushed to get all the ingredients together and then put them in the oven. I realized quickly that they did not look like the ones in the picture online. I couldn't figure out what I had done wrong so I looked over the ingredients again and realized that I had used baking soda instead on baking powder. The results- some very flat cookies! I think my brothers liked them anyway...

Hope everyone had a great week!

Billmans and Roommate Reunion!

Hello!

This week was really really busy with homework, work, classes, the usual.

We went down to Idaho Falls on Tuesday to get our month grocery shopping done and realized that we had been given the task of checking out Billmans (a BBQ joint) for my older brothers reception. So we had a last minute date night :) The food was really good and the conference room in the back looks nice.

On Thursday we worked really hard on homework so we could go to the cheap theater and see Captain America. It was really good!

On Saturday one of my old roommates, Amber Cook, came into town! So 5 of the six roommates from Kensington 306, Fall 2010 got together at our apartment, Brett was conveniently working that afternoon/night :) It was so much fun catching up with everyone! (p.s. Amber is the reason I met Brett!)

Hope everyone is having a great day!

General Conference Weekend

Hey y'all

We are loving general conference weekend over here!

It is so fun to merge traditions as me and Brett hit more and more mile marks in our marriage. Whenever I think of conference I think of sitting on the couch and crocheting blankets with my mom while we all sit in the living room watching conference on the computer. Brett associates conference weekend with eating treats!

So as I work on my blanket Brett eats the rice crispy treats that we made this morning :)

So far I think that Sister Dalton's talk was my favorite, but there is still two hours to go...
Brett really liked Presidents Monson's story about the Frankfurt Germany Temple!

I forgot to report last time that me and Brett both took accounting tests this last week (his are considerably harder than mine) and we both did well. Its always nice when the hard work pays off! I think that taking this accounting class is helping me to sympathize with my husband better. Accounting homework is very very very time consuming!

Hope everyone enjoys the last session of conference!

Funny Wildlife Story!

Hey all!

Just thought I'd write a quick blog before running off to work!

Two nights ago I was busily finishing up homework so I would have time to make some dinner for Brett and I heard some kind of shuffling outside our door. I just figured it was our neighbors, but then there was  a knock on the door. I looked through the little eye hole in the door and saw a guy I didn't recognize holding a broom above his head with a serious look on his face. I probably should have pretended not to be home out of fear of being smacked with a broom, but curiosity got the best of me :)

I opened the door a little and he said, 'Do not open your door again, I'm going to try and get the BAT out of here!' Sure enough, I bat decided that the top corner of our porch, right above the door, would be a good place to perch for the night. I closed the door quickly and heard three loud smacks, then another knock to let me know that it was gone.

Not an everyday occurrence that added a little bit of excitement to the day-- I'm really glad he wasn't aiming the broom at me :)

Brett went to 'Meet the Firms' the other night and got to talk to some accounting professionals. It sounds like he had a good time and had the opportunity to have a lot of his questions answered. He is very proud of his new updated resume- and he should be it looks great!

Well, its about time to leave for work! I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy General Conference!

Our Visitors!

Hey!

Just a quick post, life is super busy today!

This week has been a lot of school and work, but we had the pleasure of having Brett's sister Heather come visit us along with our nephew Brody! We had a lot of fun! We showed her the BYUI center (the pride and joy of Rexburg), play at the park, play "pounce" one of the best rook games ever invented, and other fun stuff!

It didn't take us long to realize that our apartment is by no means baby proof! No toys? No problem!

First Week of School, Honeyville, and Nissan!

Hello!

What a week last week! School and work are going to keep us SO busy. All went well. I do not like the days were we leave at 7 in the morning and then I don't see Brett again until he gets off work around 9:30 at night. However, we are grateful to attend a great school, have great teachers, and are learning tons :)

As most of you know, last semester I worked on an advertising campaign for a hotel in Idaho Falls called Destinations Inn. Well, this year We've kicked it up a notch and are doing a 100 million dollar ad campaign for Nissan. Yes, the car place. That one. Super excited! I'm hoping they throw in a couple free cars at the end of the semester. (I can dream right?!)

Last Sunday Brett got called to be the Assistant Executive Secretary in our ward. I hope this means we will get to know more people! Brett will do super in that calling!

On Sunday Brett and I made a last minute trip to Honeyville because his brother Ryan was there for the day and we needed to switch out cars so that ours could be registered. We realized a couple days into the semester that there would be no way we could make a trip down during the week! It was great seeing most of the family. We got to play games and see our nieces and nephews. We also got to see the new baby horse they have. Its a beautiful light brown with a mark on its forehead. Brett was sad he didn't get to drive the new semi truck, maybe next time!

Picture: Mary (Brett's Mom) was letting the nieces and Nephews jump over her, and Dallas who absolutely loves grandma, just had to do the same thing she was doing, and little Jayce has to be in the middle of everything so he jumped in there too :) Had to take a picture, so cute!

Enjoy your week~

Sheree:
-Survey of Accounting
-Organizational Effectiveness
-PR Writing and Production
-American Advertising

-Conflict Managment and Negotiation
-New Testament (Me and Brett worked it out so we could take this class together!)

Brett:
-Intermediate Accounting
-Accounitng Tax
-Human Resource Management
-Web Developement
-New Testament

On Tuesday me and Brett went to the temple and the cutest thing happened! We came out of the temple and some young girls, (10 or 11) handed us a bag of brownies with a note attached saying "While you were serving the Lord we were serving you." Cute right?! then when we got to my car the windows had been washed and there was a note on it that said, "Because of your faithfulness in serving today at the temple you will see your way "home" more clearly. Thanks for serving so lovingly". It really just added to an already wonderful temple experience.

Wednesday my family came into town! They brought my little brother Craig who starts school here at BYUI tomorrow. He is very excited and I don't blame him, first time at college is a lot of fun, new experiences! They came Wednesday night and stayed through Saturday morning.

On Thursday me and Brett got our books, it was the most either of us had ever spent on books, not good! we went to the park with my family for lunch. Really enjoyed that, Brett left for work and the rest of us stayed and played Frisbee until it was time for Craig to go to an orientation and I went with my parents to their opening orientation. Lots of sad parents dropping off their children. This is my parents third time and they are pretty pro at it :) We ended the night with Craigos pizza and Dominoes!

Friday we went to West Yellowstone. (Not Brett- he was again working) We went to pick up my older brother Brent who was there with his fiance Brandi. we got to check out some really neat places for our family reunion in July. And it was a great time to be with my parents!

I hope that as Fall sets in everyone is enjoying life and having fun!
