Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'....

I haven't blogged in a while and people are starting to notice!

Sorry for the lack of updates! Life seems so up in the air at the moment- I didn't even know what to write in the Christmas card/letter... sorry there will not be any of those this year!

John is now 8 1/2 months old, and he is such a happy boy! He is getting very loud and talkative, he now has 4 teeth and two more coming in soon, he really enjoys eating and always wants whatever I am eating, he reaches and grabs for everything, he is getting over cheerios but still loves bananas, and he laughs at dinosaurs.  John rolls around on the floor really fast to get to where he wants to go, he gets into the DVD's and Christmas presents daily- sometimes hourly, he will be crawling soon! Exciting and Scary!

Hope everyone is enjoying holidays!

Trip to New Mexico!

This last week John and I "vacationed" in New Mexico! I was there to hang out with my coolest youngest brother Doug while my mom accompanied my Dad  on a business trip to Saipan. It was a lot of fun spending time with Doug and watching him make John laugh- he was getting really good at it by the time we left! :)

I was able to visit old friends, go on long walks in the beautiful weather, and just relax! (Well, as much as you can relax while traveling with a 6 month old)

My Friend Miranda snapped some 6 month photos of John for us. They turned out super cute!

Brett and I are still enjoying Idaho Falls. We have a few more days of just cold weather and then it turns freezing. It is supposed to snow on Tuesday.

Brett is officially half way through his MAC program and is still studying like crazy for the CPA exams that are coming up. We love teaching Sunbeams (3-4 year old sunday school) on Sundays and are looking forward to the upcoming holidays!

I hope everyone is well!

Goodbye Summer... Hello Fall!

About a month ago was the Griffith Family Reunion. It was fun seeing my family again, especially some that I haven't seen in a while- some of them since before John was born!

For the reunion we gathered in Park City Utah. We had this super fancy 6 story cabin that my parents rented, it was perfect for all the little families. We took pictures, went to the zoo, played lots of games, played with the babies, went down the Alpine slide, went swimming. Good times! I am summing up quickly because I don't know how long Johns nap is going to last!

Alpine Slide

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Bear

Zoo! See the Giraffes?

Pretty sure my team won...

John putting Brinley's hand in his mouth, she was a good sport about it!

Doug and John, he looks rather possessive of him.

Chillin' on Uncle Brent's head

These last few weeks have been incredibly busy for Brett. he is going right along in his program and will be graduating in May! Only 234 days till his graduation! I just found a really cool "how many days till..." calculator online :)

We have both been busy with our callings... Brett has triple duty as my co teacher in Sunbeams (that is the 3 and 4 year old Sunday school class in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), Ward Financial Clerk, and Financial Advising committee member. We have 8 kids in our Sunbeam class, mostly boys and they have an incredible amount of energy! I love the cute things they say- and they love John! I thought one little boy was going to break Johns toes off playing this little piggy last Sunday, glad all his toes survived!

My boys!

Thanks Timari for the great pics!

We rock the tye dye :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day! This year was Brett's first time in about 4 years that he hasn't worked on the fourth of July and he wanted me to experience a Honeyville 4th so that's what we did!

The day started out with the Honeyville Freedom 5k. (Side Note: I do have my husbands permission to tell this story) Brett ran in the 5k and John and I waited at the finish line for him. He did fantastic! So proud of him for running! As he crossed the finish line I had my camera set up perfectly to take his victory shot across the finish line and this is the picture I got...
He tripped over the mat they had covering some wires... It was pretty funny and I am glad he is able to laugh about it. He banged up his ribs pretty bad, got a nice scrape on his elbow, and I picked the grass off his face for him. It was (and still is) my favorite story to tell!
When is daddy going to get here?

The next event was breakfast in the park and then the parade! We went early to get good seats in the shade. John was passed around among his cousins while we waited and he didn't mind at all! The parade lasted about 38 minutes. We then went to the park again for some burgers and to look at what they had set up for the kids.
The oldest and youngest grandchild!

That night was a BBQ at the Binghams. Lots of good food and friends! Then we headed to fireworks, I always get super anxious when getting John off his schedule but he did really good and really seemed to enjoy the fireworks! His eyes would get so big, it was very cute!
Ready for fireworks!

Happy 4th of July!

He laughed, I laughed, Brett laughed

As the title suggests, John is now laughing! He has the cutest giggle, it is very contagious. He is a happy healthy little guy and we are so grateful to have him in our family!

Not sure how he got that toy stuck on his arm!

Brett is studying like crazy keeping up with classes as well as studying for the first part of the CPA which he takes next month.

We have a very crazy month coming up in July so I will hopefully have more to blog about!

Hope everyone is doing well!

2 Months Old!

John is now 2 months old! I don’t have his statistics yet- dr apt on Monday. 2 month shots here we come! :/

We celebrated his two months by taking him to a park for the first time. There is a really big park next to the ISU campus. Brett and I enjoyed a picnic and walk along the stream!  It was a beautiful day!

John was pretty tired and so not very happy for the pictures…

Until… we got back into the car to go home, then he was all smiles!

Idaho Falls- The new adventure begins!

So last month when I blogged about Brett getting into the master of accounting program at Idaho State University I mentioned that his classes would start in July. We were very much mistaken. He went to meet with a teacher to ask some questions and the teacher said something along the lines of “So We’ll see you May 20th!” What!?. Turns out we had our dates confused. We jumped into our plans a lot faster than we planned to but it all has worked out well!

We have a nice 2-bedroom apartment in Idaho Falls that is about the same price as our Rexburg apartment but more space (especially in the living room) and we have a balcony with a beautiful mountain view! We love it!

Brett’s parents brought a horse trailer up from the farm to help us move and it was so nice- if anyone is planning on moving in the near future I would definitely recommend a horse trailer. J

We had lots of friends come to help us move! It made things so much easier (we are on a third floor apartment) I told a joke saying that there were only like 2 steps up to the apartment and all the guys believed me- including my father-in-law. They were not too impressed by the four flights of narrow stairs. Oops- in my defense all the girls knew I was joking!

We are happy to be here and I am glad to report that Brett is very much enjoying the masters program thus far!

John and Sophia (daughter of friends that helped us move) They are 2 weeks apart!

John and Eli ( son of friends that visited us for memorial day!)

For Memorial day our friends Alex and Chelsea came to hang out and see our new place. Their 1 year old son Eli really liked John- he was a sympathetic cryer, grew concerned when anyone took John out of the room, and tried several times to share his snacks with him! What a great kid!

Bye Bye Broulims

Brett has officially quit Broulims again… but this time it is permanent! Now that we are in Idaho Falls (see next post) he will be finding something closer to home.

When Brett quit Broulims the first time he kept his uniform because he knew that he may be returning after he completed his internship.  He went back to Broulims at the beginning of his last semester and his black pants were really worn out, but we couldn’t justify buying new ones (on our tight bdget) since we knew he was only going to be there for about 3 months.

As time went on he ripped holes in both knees (but its only for 2 more months…) and then they became so dirty that even after they were washed they still smelled horrible (but its only 1 month more…) then he tore a hole in an awkward place- so we patched that (only a few more weeks…) and in the final week he was walking around with his back to the wall because of the horrible hole (just a few more days…)!

I mostly wanted to blog about this so that I can remember. It was an ongoing dilemma for a few months. We would laugh about it a lot! How much can one pair of pants take!
